Have Your Staff Undertaken Cultural Awareness Training?

CHIA Vic has partnered with the Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association (VACSAL) to deliver cultural awareness training in the context of the new Community Housing Aboriginal Cultural Safety Framework.

This course will give participants an increased understanding of the historical and cultural events that continue to impact on Aboriginal communities and individuals. It will examine the impact of racism and stereotyping and look at ways to break down barriers to working effectively with Aboriginal organisations and individuals.

Whilst the training does not cover the implementation of the framework, it will provide participants with a sound base to assist their organisation to begin the process of adopting the framework.
