Family Violence MARAM Identification and Screening training

The MARAM Identification and Screening Training program is a one-day webinar aimed at providing you with skills and knowledge in:

  • Recognising family violence
  • Knowing what to do and how to engage with someone experiencing family violence
  • Understanding the drivers of family violence
  • Understanding your role in the MARAM framework.

All CHOs are prescribed organisations under the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) and have obligations to understand, implement and comply with the framework.

Family Violence is a difficult topic but the webinar is designed to be as interactive as possible, with a strong focus practical skills. There will also be plenty of breaks during the day.

In addition, you will also have the opportunity to hear from Emma Gierschick OAM, a victim survivor of family violence. Emma is very open about her experiences and will share her understanding of the ‘mindset’ of a victim survivor.

What is MARAM?

Since September 2018, a range of organisations have been designated ‘prescribed organisations’ under the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM). These ‘prescribed organisations’ are required by the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 to align their policies, practice guidance and tools to the MARAM Framework.

Community Housing organisations are considered ‘prescribed organisations. Participating in the MARAM training is one way of demonstrating an organisation’s commitment and adherence to the MARAM framework.
