Wide range of tenants

The QVM Building is a social housing development of 49 dwellings in a prominent, high profile location next to the Queen Victoria Market.

The building is located within a complex that includes council offices, community spaces, a childcare centre and retail and commercial spaces.

Housing Choices negotiated a developer-led turn-key contract, which means that this iconic building will offered to a wider range of tenants – including the most vulnerable. Successful application to the Victorian Government’s Social Housing Growth Fund and Treasury Loan facility were the catalyst for this arrangement.

VHR tenants

Tenants will come from the Victoria Housing Register (Registration of Interest and Priority Wait List) with associated eligibility requirements.

Working closely with developer PDG Corporation during the design development stage has allowed HCA to incorporate changes to the design and scope, resulting in greater flexibility for our residents and a more robust housing product.
