Social Housing Regulation Review

It’s a Review that will identify what future regulatory arrangements will best support the long-term interests of social housing residents and their communities – and we have been working with our members to provide our industry insights.

The Social Housing Regulation Review, commissioned by the Victorian Government, aims to best position social and affordable housing for growth and transformation over the coming decades.

Our people

As the only sector being regulated by the current Social Housing Regulations, the community housing sector is in a unique position to identify what works well under the current system and what could be improved upon.

Our sector is also at the heart of the growth being delivered through the Big Housing Build, and is in the process of identifying opportunities for improvement in operations as a result of this significant expansion.

We have hosted sector briefings where members have been able to hear directly from the review panel and ask questions and have also held sector workshops to help form sector positions in response to questions raised throughout the review.  Our submissions to the review panel can be accessed here:

More information about the review, including the discussion papers and instructions on how organisations and individuals can make submissions directly, can be found on the Engage Victoria page.
