Looking for answers to homelessness

The Council to Homeless Persons’ 2019 Victorian Homelessness Conference in October is seeking ways to shape a future without homelessness.

Over two days at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, CHP will run sessions on topics including Housing First, Indigenous homelessness, working with the NDIS and a specialist youth stream.

Find out more by checking out the program here. You can also register here.

Included in the event is the Homelessness Achievement Awards, which seek to celebrate exceptional workers, consumers and organisations within the specialist homelessness service system. You can nominate yourself or someone else to be recognised for invaluable achievements during the year!

Homelessness Media awards

What’s the best piece of reporting on homelessness you’ve seen this year?

A new People’s Pick award has been created for Council to the Homeless Person’s Victorian Homelessness Media Awards.

The People’s Pick allows anyone to bring CHPs attention to excellent stories on homelessness. Whilst your suggestion will not be an official nomination, it will prompt CHP to contact the journalist to encourage them to enter the awards

Entry for the $6,500 prize pool closes on 23 August, and is open to all Australian journalists.
