Community housing tenancies end in a range of ways and community housing workers need to ensure they use correct processes and apply person centred practices. This course covers the various reasons and processes for tenancies ending and what is expected of a community housing provider in managing these processes.

Learning outcomes

• Examine the different reasons and ways that community housing tenancies can end
• Apply standard end of tenancy processes, including undertaking final inspections and dealing with goods left behind
• Manage all end of tenancy processes within relevant Victorian legal frameworks
• Apply solutions to manage complex end of tenancy processes, including where a VCAT process may be involved

Skye is an experienced practitioner in community housing, public housing, and homelessness services. They have almost 20 years’ experience spanning tenancy management, casework, street outreach, service design, and senior management roles. They are currently completing a PhD exploring the ways that lived/living experience knowledge might contribute to the end of homelessness in Australia.
