The Federal Government has recently opened public consultation on the National Housing and Homelessness Plan – a 10-year strategy being developed in collaboration with state and territory governments that aims to help more Australians access safe and affordable housing.
An issues paper on Housing and Homelessness in Australia was released in August, and the public can provide feedback on it, either by responding to guided questions or by lodging a written submission.
CHIA Vic encourages all interested members to review the issues paper and make a submission that emphasises the importance of community housing in tackling Australia’s housing crisis, and the need for national leadership to bring about meaningful change.
The issues paper, details on how to make submissions, and further information including open public consultation events can be found here.
Submissions are due by Friday, 22 September 2023 but you can apply for an extension by emailing the National Housing and Homelessness Plan Team.
